The Vincent Hayes Project CD “Reclamation”
Listening to the first song on the album “Hit Me High, Hit Me Low” the groove took me away in the music so this song forced me to listen to all the songs, and I did just that.
“Insecurities” is totally different, it is a kind of Blues Fusion and again the groove was there !!,
With a nice Hammond sound to support the rhythm section during the guitar solo.
“I’ve Got A Right To Change” a slow one, has good arrangements, in this song you’ll hear that this is a band because it all fits together and listen to the lyrics you’ll be amazed what it tells you.
At this point I’m not going to tell you about the other songs, for that it is better to buy the album.
I like the vocals very much, I’m not going to compare it with other Blues singers I think that the voice of Vincent Hayes is a good one and you know what I mean when you hear this album.
Overall: A very nice recorded and mixed album, you hear all instruments even the bass guitar in the very low registers. The album is in complete balance, actually this is a CD you must have in your collection.
I’ll give this CD airplay in my radio show “Blues Encounters Of The Dirty Kind” every Monday from 20:00hrs till 22:00hrs (time in the Netherlands) on www.localfm.nl go to “luister live”

Willem (Bluesy “W”) van Kempen.
